Yeoksam-dong was named after Yeoksam-ri that combined the three villages of Maljukgeori, Utbangadari, and Aretbangadari, which were famous for horse station. In this area many historical relics were excavated, such as patternless earthenware, semicircular knife, and so on. According to the relics, it is known that people lived along the Han River basin from long time ago.

House of Son family which opened as a place of cultural family experience for foreigners. Foreigners who are interested in Korea are able to see the sincere life of Koreans at this place.
